Painting
Restoration and Conservation
Like everything else, paintings
suffer from the affects of time, and the environment in which they are
kept. These factors, as well as exposure to heat, moisture, mishandling,
carelessness, and even previous restoration often result in distortion,
tears, darkened varnish, holes, paint loss, staining, delamination, and
other kinds of damage. Fortunately, these and other conditions can be
corrected and reversed through conservation procedures which include consolidation,
flattening, cleaning, lining, mending of tears and holes,
mounting, inpainting and varnishing.
Our twenty years of experience
in painting conservation includes restoration of oil and acrylic paintings
on panel and canvas, as well as watercolors, prints of all kinds, and pastels on paper. Works of art
from America, Europe, and the
Far East have all been a part of this experience. We provide photographic documentation of our work.
