Exposure
to the environment, the paper manufacturing process, substandard framing practices,
mishandling, moisture, poor storage conditions, as well as
the ravages of time, can damage paper. Consequently, many works of art on paper, photographs,
and documents are foxed, wrinkled, brittle, stained,
torn, acid burned, and otherwise damaged. Most of these conditions can be reversed
and corrected, so as to preserve paper articles indefinitely.
We offer a full range of paper restoration for watercolors, engravings, etchings, other printed
media, and pastels on paper. These services include cleaning, replacement of missing paper, flattening, deacidification, and, when necessary, retouching. In addition, the same services are available for photographs. To those who prefer not to have the original photograph
restored, we also offer referrals for
digital restoration .
